Tropical Storm Edouard Conditions
Port of Houston Authority Conditions
This information is from the National Weather Service 10:00 am briefing on August 5, 2008.
Tropical Storm Edouard did not strengthen in the overhight hours. Landfall occured in
Jefferson County, east of High Island. Wind speeds at the center of the storm are
60 mph. The storm continues to move west nothwest. By 7:00 pm tonight it will be over the
Bryan-College Station area. Tropical Storm Warnings for the coastal areas of Galveston, Harris,
Liberty, and Chambers Counties remain in effect. No tidal flooding is expected.
Port Facility Conditions
The entrance and exit ramps at the Turning Basin from and to 610 are currently flooded (at 10:30 am).
The continued heavy rain will only worsen this condition. It is recommended that personnel use Gate 1 or Gate 8
off of Clinton Avenue until further notice.
For vehicles headed east on Barbour's Cut Blvd. from the APM Terminal to Lobic Street please exercise
caution becuase water is accumulating on the street.
